Complete residential protection may include a large tree that spreads over the roof of a home. Many times, lightning may strike high in a tree and while the branch, or even the entire tree, is falling on the house, the discharge is arching to the house causing further damage. Just because you have a tree, does not mean you are protected. In reality, every tree within 10 feet of a house should have lightning protection to keep the home safe.
